Art Tuition

While we hope your Capri Art Experience will be a relaxing one, we also hope it will be a rewarding one, from which you return with a notable improvement of your artistic abilities, self-confidence, and knowledge. Your art courses have been designed cover important basic theory and practice, and the full one-week art experience will cover the following topics:

• The basics of pencils: holding and controlling, blending, shadows
• The basics of design composition: page layout, horizons, brain perception
• Introduction to colour: colour balance, colour theory, primary, secondary and tertiary colours
• Medium types, paper types, canvas
• Painting basics: setting up your work space and palette, introduction to brushes, paint types, blending colours
• Forms and shapes: realistic or abstract, chiaroscuro
• Use of space
• Geometric shapes and shadows
• Acrylic painting
• Watercolour painting
